When backing up a customers data I use nero however it changes the name to an 8 characters instead of leaving it as is. I understand this but is there any software that will leave it just as it is so when you reinstall the software it is as it was before? Or if you leave them to reinstall they recognize it.

just change the naming standard field to allow 'Joliet' and additional ISO characters, there can be some problems in that there is no guarantee that another PC will be able to read the full field, but that depends on OS. As long as the peeps are using XP\2000 or later there will be no problems.
Left set to be fully compatible with all OS varieties Nero and other burning software has to truncate to 8.1, you would only need this if the end user was only running old systems.

Running through a backup senerio I see no option to allow joliet in the bakitup of nero 6. I use backitup since it will split the data accross several disk if it is to large and I have yet to find a way to do that in just burning a data disk. Just tells me the compilation is to large for the disk. Joliet is in the data disk burning of nero but not in the backitup of nero that I see. I have looked through every option. Did I miss something?

No takers on this. All I need is software that will burn large amounts of dtat accross multipile disks without changing the file names. In other words burn customer data and leave file names as they appeared originaly.

The link above discusses burning long file names and points to a couple of programs that will do it.

I think I have found something that work pretty darn close to what I want however I see no option to burn accross more then one disk but it may be in there somewhere. It does leave the file system as it is and that was what I was looking for most of all. Here is the software if you are interested http://www.padus.com/

Bit off topic - but in order to backup my DATA (mainly office documents) I use 7z and later burn the file on a CD (or store it Online - Box.net is very usefull).
To my large files (Music/movies) I Do a Burn to a DVD once in a while - but that is not so important to me.

Cheers,
Gabriel

Mainly what I'm looking for is software that can burn multiple disks and leave the files as they are seen on your computer for the purpose of backing up cutomers data onto cd or dvd and giving them a copy of that data. Closest I've came to this is discjuggler.

This is a problem I run into when backing up to an external source is when trying to copy all contents in "Documents and settings" it stops half way through and tells you NTUSER cannot be coppied and quits and you get half there data. I just want to burn the entire content's and copy over what they want. This way later when they say "Oh my god you forgot something" you have it all on disk and easy to find.
