This page includes information to help you download Windows Vista RC2, a new test build. This build (5744) has a number of improvements and updates from previous builds, and has been through daily testing processes to refine quality and performance. We are making this release available for a limited time only (and only by download) in order to get broad distribution and testing in a variety of PC configurations. Please note: This build may not have the same level of support or servicing via Windows Update as RC1, and you may not be able to upgrade from this build to the final version of Windows Vista.

Techz is on leave I think; I'm filling in.
I never touched any dodgy copies of XP you may have nicked from your old company; you're just jealous of my Action Pack.

I like what I see in RC 2, Yes it even works on my system and I find it quit snappy in areas
I even find that Firefox loads quicker than in XP , So I think they are getting something right

I ran rootkit revealer again and the same files show up on both drives, I a going to try and post the output of rootkit revealer , I tried and the program locked up, I am having system slowdowns after downloading a Linux distro for my other box , If I get it to save then I will post the text

I am unable to save the output to a text file, rootkit revealer just locks up, I can get a clipboard view, how do I convert that to a jpg, I have forgotten

Thanks Noo
I just had some straannge behavior on the pc, I burned a Linux DVD to install Linux on another system
When I was done I closed Nero down
I got the small hour glass flickering next to my mouse pointer and rundll 32 was appearing and disappearing in task manager
I reopened Nero and then closed it and this wierdness stopped
I am going to try and get you a screen shot of the rootkit revealer output

This is information that MS needs, have you posted on the newsgroups (http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.mspx)? I assume you are a public rc2 user and not part of the beta team?

Thanks again Noo
You have put me at peace, so what is Transactional NTFS, ? Must be an upgrade from the older version NTFS
And by the sounds of it MS is going to work on that aspect of things
When I tried to put something in the Windows newsgroups I got an error just like one time before
I may have to try a new NIC in this thing ( Old 3com hardware NIC )
Thanks again

transactional ntfs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transactional_NTFS)
As for the newsgroups, do you have an msn passport? What error, it doesn't sound like you are trying very hard to post.

I can log in using my user name and password, and once I click that send button it is up to their server to do it
Unless I need another level of log in , But now that I know what is going on with my system I can relax
It is 4 am and my bed is calling me
thanks again Noo :)
