Just installed me one of these.

Windows isn't detecting this as being my primary audio device, however.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Windrivers candlessuck

[this beastie? (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-focus.html)

First does you computer meet the minimum requirements shown?

What operating system do you have and what service pack?

In device manager, is there an ohci ieee 1394 firewire installed and enabled or does it have a ! or ? next to it?

Have you disabled you previous sound?

Did you install the drivers? (if not there is a link on the left to the drivers download)

How are you powering the unit?

Yup, that's the one.

In order:

My system does meet the requirements.

Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

Firewire is installed properly.

I uninstalled my previous onboard sound driver. The Legacy drivers are still on here, however.

Drivers are installed.

Powering it by adaptor.

ok, did you disable onboard sound in the bios?

Does device manager show any device that might be the audio?
Do you know if the firewire port is good?
