Hi,

I have the above audio board fitted and can't get the audio to work since upgrading from WIN98 to XP. I've tried several drivers without success.

Having looked at other questions & answers on this subject it would appear you need my main board details to help, it is:

MSI INC. ALADDIN5 VER:1.0
Bus Clock: 60 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends, Inc. 0626 07/12/95

I'm using XP Home Edition

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Rod

Welcome to WinDrivers, Rod.

MSI could have numerous motherboards based on the ALI Aladdin 5 chipset.

If the system is the one you're going online with you could use MSI Live Update (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download_center.php), or if you'd like to do it manually, and you don't know the model of board, download and install the Everest Home (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html) program and generate a report.

Then you can either post the results of the report here and we can direct you to the drivers, or enter the board model at the above update site.

The Creative Labs download site:

At this time it doesn't want to work - but maybe sometime it will.

Welcome to Windrivers RodA

Jeepers why put xp on a computer that old?

If you insist, you can use the windows 2000 drivers for the ES1373 sound... download them here (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_file_record.php?folder=2&kind=1&name=es1373_wdm.exe)

I tried the suggestion from NooNoo, sorry, didn't work.

OK, the MS-5169 doesn't have onboard sound, so maybe we're not going to have success with a driver from MSI.

Through the link from CCT, here (http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=1&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP&region=1&Product_Name=Sound+Blaster+PCI+128&Product_ID=1864&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=24&y=13) should be a suitable driver pack.

As NooNoo has indicated, XP will be something of a slug on that system.
"Bus Clock: 60 megahertz"
Where did this information come from? The board has 66 - 100 MHz bus...
