The difference is that the 32-bit version of Windows runs on either 32-bit processors or 64-bit processors, the 64-bit version runs only on 64-bit processors. Ferrit January 28th, 2007, 09:46 AM Unless you know that all your devices and software will support 64-bit Windows, stick with 32-bit. Yes search all of your devices and be sure you have the drivers for 64 bit Modems and cameras and scanners are problematic Also check that your software will work. Some does not An example is Norton Antivirus 2005/2006/2007 It wont even install They do make 64 bit replacements Nod/Avast Symantec AV 10 The difference is that the 32-bit version of Windows runs on either 32-bit processors or 64-bit processors, the 64-bit version runs only on 64-bit processors. That might be over simplifying it a little 32 bit has memory limitations in the 3/4 gig 64 bit i think goes to at least 32 gigs or 64 Some reading is avaliable here http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/windowsxp/articles/581/1/The-difference-between-64-and-32-bit-processors windrivers.com
