Sorry, it seems like a silly question, but...

How do I close the Task Manager dialog box?

There is no close "X" button in the upper right hand corner, no "File" dropdown menu, and nothing happens when I right click the task bar box (which is blank except for an icon of a computer).

The Task Manager itself works fine. The "End Task", "Switch To" and "New Task" buttons all work. I just can't close the Task Manager dialog box.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Out of interest, can you link the thread you found please Hwin1?

Just my guess, but I have seen where if you double click the task manager frame, the header bar and file, options, etc goes away. Double click again and it restores.

Correct! And some people say Microsoft has no sense of humor.

I couldn't find the thread again. But cgonzo guessed correctly -all I had to do was double click the gray area to restore all the tabs, the close "X" button, and the "File" dropdown menu. -Thanks.

Thanks Hwin1.. if anyone else is looking for this fix, it is frustrating to find the problem, read through a load of posts and then find that the problem got solved but the solution wasn't posted.
