no I don't , haven't and don't plan on owning a Compaq of any kind. However, my sister in law does and hre's the problem. When the printer power is enabled all seems well until the printer is asked to print. the printer does nothing other than show the power light blinking on and off as if the printer had been put in suspend mode. I have checked and updated the following. drivers to latest version via Canon. Printer cartridges have ink and are apparently ready to go. printer port is enabled both through windows and system bios. still same problem. the printer shows the "job" to be printed, but indicates no problems. so now what? btw, DOS channel is also enabled through the system bios. Compaq even lists conflicts as to these types of problems with printer hook up, but seems to have failed finding a cure for this particular problem! Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is your setting in the BIOS set to ECP or EPP? ECP setting can cause troubles for many computers or printers. It isn't just Compaq by the way, ran into the same problem with HP computer as well!

My experiences with cannon printers tell me to instruct you to throw it away and buy a new printer
anything other than a cannon is preferable
my preferences are for hewlett packard printers but everyone has thier own favorites
i had a cannaon bjc4200 once and after a year it decided it wasnt going to work anymore
have had an hp ever since and have had no problems with it
hope this helps
