My accountant is running Xp pro.
She thinks she did something to cause the following.

When using explorer to open the DVDROM D: all folders and files have the icon for url's.

Doesn't matter what disk or what file format. Folders .docs .pdf .jpg .etc they all have url icons. It makes browsing the disk a beech. If you had a folder and a file with the same name you cant tell it apart. It's not the media at fault it's system specific.

The bizzare thing is that the C: drive isn't affected.

Any ideas?

Cheers.. Scutter

well only thing I can come up with is maybe spyware or you might need to flash the firmware in the drive.

Thanks Noo, I have a smilar problem with an XP box, the c drive icon is a generic icon instead of a drive
I will try this when I get home, I hope the laptop owner can get this icon issue fixed
