I need a driver and firmware for Philips dvd rw dvd8631. Where can I find one?
I have not had any luck with Drivers Guide and I do not know where to go from here.:flames: :flames:

A quick check shows that this dvd drive is likely to be in a Dell machine. Please post the make and model of the dell. This is the dell firmware (http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R101954&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=132121) but use at your own risk. If you have given the wrong details then this firmware update may stop your dvd drive from working forever.

DVDs don't need drivers as such, they work off the same drivers as your hard drives do. What you may need is dvd playing or burning software.

What is the problem with the DVD and what windows are you running?
