Does anybody know how one can change the login box graphic on Windows XP Machines? Our school will be switching over to Active Directory in the next few weeks and would like to use a custome graphic on the log in box. We did this with our Novell Login Boxes and would like to do with the Windows ones as well.

I have searched Microsoft and technet as well as google and cannot seem to find a clear answer anywhere.

Just to clarify this is what we have now for our Novell Login Dialog Box

and I would like to create something similar to replace the Windows XP Dialog Box Below

I thought something could be done on the machine level using a bitmap or a jpg as long as you had the correct dimensions.

I found a way to put a notice in (http://www.theeldergeek.com/create_legal_notice_logon_dialog_box.htm)

Given the logon process (http://www.windowsvistamagazine.com/US/05582469248892630275/if-the-boot-fits-find-out-how-your-computer-boots.html) you are looking at hacking LSASS.exe...

Well hours of searching I think this is the answer

I wish I could take credit for discovering this but sadly I cannot. Looks like you have to use hack the msgina.dll.

Here is the new Login Box Modified.
