Seems to be the culprit as to 'why' I cannot view a DVD any longer.. Tried from the registry cleaners to restore points (that was permitted) etc-etc.. Still no resolution. Cannot open Windows Media or Sonic Cineplayer, or any other Media program; again, the only error message I get (upon start up) is the libeay32.
Any tips or similar findings that have found the right ticket????????????
Sure would like to be able to view a DVD or 2 once again....
Cheers! & Thanks for reading (any help is much appreciated!)

Welcome to WinDrivers Need-a.
I'm not sure if the Libeay32.dll is directly the cause of your DVD problem, it's an encryption library used for SSL when on-line. I suppose it could be part of a bigger problem though...
Some questions if I may:
Can you still read the files from a data DVD normally?
Is the error message on startup of the computer or when you try to run a Media program?
Can you recall anything significant from the time DVDs stopped playing eg software installed or removed, system crash?
Does the DVD drive report normally in the Device Manager, no bangs (eg yellow ! )?

Hi there, (in Aussie-Land) I did send you an email, (besides this one) thanks btw! Just not sure if it went, as I wasn't able to locate a sent file for it. Just, also wanted to clarify what you mean: you suppose it could be part of a bigger problem, though... ?? Thanks, (I'd rather be prepared for more (than less) of what may be expected of to do, in order to unboggle the boggled! Cheers!

I have just read your email, thanks for the extra information. It's best to maintain the conversation here, as others will probably be able to contribute suggestions, or answer the question outright.
With the mention of Dell and the errors relating to ZCfgSvc.exe, ifrmewrk.exe & quickset.exe I think it would be best to update your drivers through the Dell website. The first two utilities relate to your Wireless Networking and are known to be somewhat troublesome, updating to the latest versions is advised as the starting point for troubleshooting. If you're unsure about updating, let us know the model number from the labelling on your system.
My comment about a bigger problem was referring to the possibility of two separate faults or maybe a hidden problem like spyware or similar. Is your system clear of malware? ie protected and clear scanned with a reputable AV and cleared of spyware with a combination like AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy, or an online scan such as Trend Micro's Housecall.
The other questions re the DVD drive and software install/removal etc are still relevant to the problem.
