I've replaced by motherboard (Phoenix bios) with a new motherboard - FIC VA503+ (Award bios) and the internal Zip 100 drive is no longer recognized in Windows. It shows up as a "ghost" B Floppy Drive that is inaccessable. The bios is the most recent (JE439) as suggested by the board manufacturer (FICA). I spoke with Iomega support and they suggested contacting this site for help. Anyone out there that can help me get the Zip recognized?

Let's see how much i remember from my days as an Iomega Tech...things to try:
A) Try setting the IDE channel you are using in the BIOS to DISABLED or NONE, actually MAKE SURE of this...
B) If that doesn't work, try going into the BIOS and for whatever channel the Zip is on, set it to "USER" and set all the settings that you can to "6" (like sectors, heads, landing zone, etc.). When you do this, after saving changes and rebooting, you will get a hard disk controller error at the POST screen, but just press F1 to continue. If this one works, it is only a WORKAROUND, and you will either have to deal with pressing F1 to boot, or contact the MB manufaturer for a BIOS update that supports ATAPI Zip drives.

I had the same problem. You might need to update your Ide driver under windows.

remember there are two kinds of internal zip drives, one will be recognized as a floppy drive and the other will be recognized as an IDE removable drive. I forgot on how to distinguish but it does have to do with the bios and the ide driver that is being loaded.

I hope i helped you out some bit.
