Welcome to Windrivers naenaeboo

Did you attach the camera first and then install the drivers? Or install the drivers first?

Does the computer have service pack 2 installed?

i attached the camera..the wizard pops up for detecting new hardware..i tried using that wizard, but it wont install the drivers thru there...whether i let it automatically find them, or whether i direct it to the cdrom or to the file i downloaded from the site..it just comes up saying if i have a disk with the drivers to click 'back' and try again...just this endless cycle....
so...
i tried just opening the install cd and installing the stuff that way, which it went thru the wizard all ok like it was supposed to but yet when i then try to open the cam, it tells me none found....
y
yes i have service pack 2 installed....
this computer originally came with vista which was nuked and then windows xp was put on, so i had go thru and manually add all the drivers etc...i dunno, is there something like that maybe that was missed??

thanks for trying to help. all is appreciated!!

ok uninstall all the camera software and reboot.

Download and install the chipset drivers for the computer. - Post the make and model if you need help finding them. - reboot.

Now install the software and DO NOT attach the camera until the software asks for it. If it doesn't ask, then finish the installation, reboot. Wait until the desktop has completely loaded (no egg timers and then wait a minute). Now attach the camera.... it should find it this time.

If it doesn't, then boot to safe mode, remove the camera drivers and software and unplug the camera, now reboot to normal mode and try again. Do NOT plug in the camera before the software is installed unless the software specifically asks you to plug it in.
