i have an ancient laptop from my mother, a Toshiba satellite pro 446CDX.. she cant remember the password she used to get oneline with and locked it to where unless you have the password you cant access internet at all... What can i do? Its running windows 98 and i have no software for it except a windows 98 upgrade disc she found... its also missing a eutils.dll, the main problem is im disabled on a very limited budget so i cant just scrap the laptop and buy a new one ...

sincerely,

You say you have a lap top with 98?? I have placed a bootable cd in the cd rom drive and accessed the operating system. unless it is the bios asking for password. I am not sure if you can take out battery and let it reset the bios,
that old it maybe soldered in.:)

The system disk is your 98 upgrade disk. But that will only install if you have the software you upgraded from - probably windows 95 or 3.1 on diskettes. Does the laptop have a cd rom drive?

look at the bottom of the laptop - is there a label which gives you the licence number for windows? If so, which windows?
