What's the best way to recover files on a bad floppy disk. I have tried many ways with very little success. If you have any suggestions please respond to this.

Have you tried using Scandisk from windows 95/98 setting the surface scan to on, chances are, if the diskette is not FULL it will be able to recover the information and copy it to another part of the diskette which is not damaged.

I have a last ditch method, but I must warn you, It may destroy your disk so that not utility will be able to recover anything from it!

But when all else has failed, I have been able to make some floppies and information on them readable again by placing the disk on the heater and letting it warm up. Usually it's a one time deal, but I have a few disks that it actually seems to have fixed, that are still working a year later.

Of course, as I stated above, this could destroy the disk as well.
