Hello All,
I'm very happy to say that on Friday, WinDrivers transitioned back to a free site. There is a login that is necessary but it is completely free and gives you access to exclusive content from the Internet.com, DevX, and EarthWeb networks: eBooks, whitepapers, newsletters, webcasts, and more. We are still working to get everything in place so please join in the celebration, check the site out and feel free to report any problems to me.

That's the best news I've had for a long time.
Now we can link to drivers held on the WD server... they are all still there aren't they?

I haven't removed anything from the site only added. If they were there before they will still be there now. If someone follows a link to the premium site they will be prompted for a username/password or the chance to create a login. It is as I said before absolutely free. I did a little dance myself when the changes went live.

There are so many 'Free The People' jokes I could use - BUT will not.
I am not entirely sure what your site has to offer other than GREAT advice from the Technicians here, so why not toot your own horn in this thread and point out some navigation tips for driver-finders etc.

Wow.
Having gone through the melt down transition to pay site..

You mean there's more to this site than just forums? :)

I wonder why people will pay $2 for a bottle of water when there is a filtered water fountain 5 feet away from them...

or buy a 20 oz. soda for $1.29 that's sitting beside the 2-litres that are the same price (or sometimes less)

Because:
1. in most cases the filter hasn't been replaced in years or the water still has a bad taste
2. it's hard to carry the fountain water with you if you don't have a container
