Flame messages are posts or email messages that express a strong opinion or criticism. They are acceptable when their purpose is to correct misinformation or bad behavior, or to add something of value to the topic at hand. Flames that simply insult others are bad netiquette.



You can post a strong opinion or criticism without flaming. Flaming is personally insulting. You can disagree with a person without questioning their parentage.

I think this is an interesting test but I don't think the author really understands much of the internet. Chain mail is a blight because it is not only the reason mailboxes are full and some important things are inadvertantly deleted with them but that they are a popular medium used for spreading virii. I liked the vague answer that was supposed to be the correct one for the time it should take to reply to an e-mail. Nothing like taking the guess-timated appropriate time to respond to an e-mail.

1. forwarded to as many people as possible if they contain information about computer viruses
2. forwarded to just your friends
3. checked for authenticity and then forwarded
4. discarded the way you do paper junk mail <==Your answer

I got them all right except the one about how quickly you should answer email. "After an appropriate interval?" Sounds like someone died or broke up with someone else. :confused:
