Chavez: On the brink of War

That stupid SOB, Hugo Chavez, is going to drag Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador into a war. That dumb arse is running his mouth off, not because he gives two hoots about Ecuadorian territorial sovereignty, but because the Colombians may have finally gotten proof of Chavez's long-standing support of the FARC and other South American, left-wing terrorists. He may be backing himself into a corner he cannot weasel out of. The unfortunate part is that many may die because of it. :mad: :guns:

There was a commentary in the Washington Post two or three weeks ago that suggested that the Juice's power base was starting to unravel pretty quickly, and a major concern of the opposition was whether he could stay in power long enough to for them to put together an effective coalition to govern the country. Traditionally, wars have been a great way to rally everyone around the flag, so Chavez's latest maneuvers don't come as a surprise.

What's sad is the far left libs LOVE this guy. They have also said that it is actually Bush who's behind the actions of the Columbians.

I find it sad and funny that they are actually playing into Chavez's delusions and rants of the "Great American Conspiracy".

Amazed that few people mention the fact that the entire Columbian problem long ago devolved into a drug trafficking turf war, over control of the billions of cocaine dollars flowing into Columbia. The FARC may have been a sincerely revolutionary group at one point, but they got a taste of the big bucks and stepped right in when the various cartels, Medellin and Cali, were dismantled.

Chavez has long been known to be a FARC sympathizer and has turned Venezuela into a safe corridor for the exportation of their drugs. The poorer farmers of Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru have traditionally been very dependent on the Coca dollars to sustain them, as they lack any other viable cash crop.

I cna only wish for dear Chavez: "that when he is old and feeble and a syphillitic wreck, his spine falls through his rectum and breaks his friggin neck." :)

Little to no maintenance, lack of skilled engineers, oil field workers, etc. is starting to cripple gasoline production. If you will remember, Chavez and the Petroleum Workers, including Tanker Ship captains, were locked in a stand off when Chavez brought in some wringers from Brazil, etc. to take their places. He may have broken the strike deadlock, but in the long run he (and Venezuela) lost. We still have family and friends in the Oil business there and that is what they are telling us.
