I was using a ISA Sound Blaster 16, and the software included a Wavesynth Driver. With my upgraded system, I am using a Sound Blaster 16 PCI. This Sound card does not include the Wavesynth driver and now my MIDI files sound pitiful. Where would I be able to get this? I've been on Creative's website, downloaded the update, and still nothing helps. I'm running Windows 98.

For some strange reason they are only available at the european site - try this http://www.europe.creative.com/support/drivers/ if that doesnt take you to the right page, go here http://www.europe.creative.com/support/drivers/welcome.asp and select sb16 and any operating system, the wavesynth is near the bottom

The Wavesynth file for the SB16 ISA will not help at all and there is no Wavesynth file available for seperate download on Creatives sites for the SB 16 PCI (except the Wavesets). You should be able to change the Midi playback device under Control Panel - Multimedia - Devices - Midi Playback. You should have a couple of options and you should check each one for which ever one sounds the best to you.
Also you should install the latest drivers for your card as well, along with the applications (you can choose during the setup which apps you want to install but you need all the files)& wavesets.
