Hey everyone.
Purchased this sexy desktop PC from Dell (Inspiron Desktop 530) came and worked great. However it had Vista on it which I personally really dislike. I formatted and gave it a fresh XP install, however now the sound doesn't work. Upon looking at the Dell drivers website under Inspiron Desktop 530 I download the drivers for my sound card, however it says something along the liens of "this must be run under Windows Vista"
Any idea? I know I don't!
Any help would be really appreciated.

Looks like you downloaded the Vista drivers, not XP drivers...

Yeh the dell website dosnt have any xp drivers. Even under selecting OS:XP the drivers are still the same (vista)

XP Sound drivers from Dell (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSP_DSKTP_D530&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en)
There is a drop down box - it's default is Vista, but XP is there too... sound drivers are under the audio section. Creative X-Fi or Realtek, depending on whether you paid for the posh sound or not.

i installed a windows vista on my samsung desktop computer, and there is no sound playing. instead the device manager reads multimedia audio controller!
