Welcome to Windrivers isthisbetterb
From your posts, it seems to you have managed to download itunes... or not?
It sounds like your setup is not the setup.exe, but a short cut to the setup.exe on the now defunct hard drive.
So start with a fresh download from here (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) and save it to a directory you can find - eg c:\itunes

What browser are you using internet explorer or Firefox?
Firefox has an area where you set where the downloads go.
Or do you have some download manager that's doing it.
