Cannor get Adobe Flash Player to work for NOTHING!

I have looked all over online, and I cannot get my Flash Player to work.
I keep getting the error box whenever I try to watch a video.
I have done all the Registry stuff, Security stuff, etc. to my knowledge.
What am I missing???
Well, I am missing Youtube, for one. :knife:

Hello MASinINDY and welcome to Windrivers forum,
First - what OS are u using (32Bit or 64Bit) - if you are using 64Bit - than bad news - there is no flash for 64Bit (you can use the 32Bit but you have to run the X86 version of the browser in order to perform this).

Second - I advise you to go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ and try one of the option there.

I have tried all of the options there to no avail.
And I have had Flash Player before, so I must have 32 Bit.
Something called Chipset (I think) was downloaded and my Flash Player disappeared.
I am not sure if that was a coincidence or has something to do with it.

Chipset are drivers for your MB and/or built-in devices (Sound card, Video Display Etc.).
Usually this does not "destroy" flash playback
What I suggest first - install alternate browser (Firefox for instance) - than install Flash plugin
This might be a problem with your browser - check IE Settings:
Brose tp a site containing flash content -> Goto Tools -> Manage add-ons -> see if flash is disabled or non existent

I did the IE Settings thing, and Flash Player is not on there at all.

I also had problems with laptop, I could not view you tube, it would say
hello you have java turned off or you need to install adobe flash player.
also where ever I surfed I received white sheet and red X. I read Gabriel
post ABOUT CHANGING Browser. I downloaded Opera and then downloaded
Adobe player and installed without being on line. Then launched Opera and now I can watch you tube:thumbs: :)

BTW on my computer there are 3 browsers installed - IE, Firefox (v2 I am waiting a bit to FF3 to mature) and Opera. This way I am quite sure I am not missing anything...

I use IE mainly for Hebrew based website
Opera for viewing forums (the mouse esture feature is splendid - Yes I know there is a pluging for FF...)
and Firefox for all the rest.

Good advice on trying an alternative browser, Gabriel. Sometimes you run into problems that aren't practical to resolve any other way. Happened to me a couple of months ago with Intel's Proshare. Off topic, but I'm wondering what issues you are having with Firefox 3. Since Silverlight got updated, I have no gripes.

I'm having the same problem in Vista Business. I browse to sights that keep telling me that I have an older version of Flash Player and that I need v 8.o installed.
I have Adobe Flash Player v 9.0 installed according to Help > About.
This started earlier today.
I've done the usual:
uninstall, download, reinstall
reset security settings (enabled everything for active x)
Anyone have any ideas?

Which sites have given you the problem?

Do you have SP1 installed on your Vista?

I assume that when you reinstalled, the movie on the adobe site played ok?

...Off topic, but I'm wondering what issues you are having with Firefox 3...
Nothing in particular - I usually wait for any program (and OS, drvers for that matter to be "in the wild" for at least 2 Monthes (or a SP or major update) before I install them.
That way, I am pretty sure What I am installing is being less prown to computer bugs.
