Ok. Where to start. About a week ago I did a windows update. I saw that I had some optional updates for windows. I decided to download those. Which included C-media AC97. Now my device manager is saying C-media will not install correctly and my sound doesn't work at all. I tried to uninstall the C-media AC97, but that doesn't work and somehow re installs itself. I'm pretty sure I didn't have C-media AC97 on my computer before. I appreicate any help that I can get.

Sounds like windows update installed a generic driver. The MS-6570 is the K7N2 and there are a few things that come to mind that you can try.

Option 1:
You can try to rollback the driver by finding the device in device manager and opening that device and underneath the driver tab there should be a roll back driver option.

Option 2:
Download and install the driver from MSI's website. The driver page is here
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=519

Option 3:
You can probably also download the NForce2 Driver pack from Nvidia's website. I just not exactly sure which one fits that board, but they do have an "detect" feature that may be helpful.

This should be the driver although there are 4 different boards with your model number

If this is not it here is the link to the other three models

Thank you BOB IROC! Option 1 worked perfectly! The C-media AC97 is finally gone and the sound has returned! WinDrivers is the best and I would like to thank everyone for their help and time! !

ps. I love windows update! It's fun for the whole family!
