Hy together

I have on my PC100 Motherboard (AMD K6/350)a CMI8330 Soundcard.

My "MS Sidewinder Force Feed Back Wheel" Joystick and my "MS Digital Sound System 80" don't work together.

If I install the Sound System first, my Gamecotroller ist no longer found by the soundcard. If I install the Joystick first, the Sound System don't work properly.

I hope, that somebody can help me.

go to www.cmedia.com.tw, (http://www.cmedia.com.tw,) they make the drivers for the sound on the board, they also have some faq regarding joystick problems. You may not like their answers for joysticks.

Thanks for the hint.

Unfortunately the faq did not help.

Do you have an idea why this problem happens?

i had a simalar problem with a microsoft sidewinder gamepad and an onboard c-media soundcard on a pc-100 (www.pcchips.com) motherboard. i phoned microsoft technical support and it turned out that the soundcard could work the gamepad or play sound BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME! http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smile.gif in the end i just brought a new soundcard - problem solved!

I think that you may find that the CMI8330 game port is wired slightly different to the requirements of the Microsoft joysticks. The Force Feedback have the same problem yet youcan put a Logic 3 stick on and it is fine.
I used to recommend the customers to buy a Creative card as these work fine.

On other thoughts, I used to steer my customers away from PC-CHIPS altogether as I had nothing but grief with these boards. I would rather lose a sale than to sell a system that was not up to spec.
