I have tested with 3 different drivers i have found for this sound card
1:Xpress audio
2:Native Audio Geode Driver for win98 and win2000
3:and some 16bit audio driver that was included with a audio driver package
One thing thats is weird is a need to driver to get this work:confused: and i have both of them

You say you have 98 on this... 98 and wdm drivers especially sound drivers would screw up. The best drivers are the vxd based drivers... 95 drivers always work.
The link I put up has different (and newer) driver versions.

ok, you should have an ac97 sound device in device manager and in control panel multimedia, you should be able to select the devices for playback and record.... do you?

Get everest home or hwinfo and post the specs for the chipset
Right now, I would say format, load the chipset drivers and load the sound driver before the video driver.

As I recall, none of these thin client boxes from any manufacturer that used the Geode chipset were designed to work with anything older than windows ce or windows XPe..I doubt if it will work on an unsupported os like 98

You don't seem to have loaded the 98 driver I linked you to?
If that thing has a pci slot, beg or borrow a cmedia based card and see if that works

I know you have one pci slot... hence the suggestion :)
The date on the web page differs from the actual driver then, my bad.
