might have avirus and antivirus wont upgrade

Well here goes, over the past week I had several problem with my computer.running on XP..start up, defrag wont work,was told to go in DOs and do a chckdisk prompt...which when the computer starts I now get a message saying autocheck cannot run on raw file s or something like that and it just keep on booting afterwards.

I was finally told i might have a virus since I cant go to support microsoft page or avg or else. my internet works well for the other pages but if I do a search on virus and click on antivirus links it gets blocked. I tried upgrading avg it would work or my anti spyware or my doctor spyware...anyone has any ways of solving this issue?

You have three choices.

Fastest: Back up your data and reset to factory condition using the restore disks

Slower: Remove your hard drive and take it to a computer that has good updated antivirus and firewalling. Attach it as a usb drive and run scans on it. Delete files that are infected.

Slowest: Borrow someone's computer, download every antivirus and the updates for each and burn to a CD. Attempt to install one of them and update it from the CD. If that works, then go get the anti spyware like spybot, malwarebytes, a-squared with their updates and then run those too.
