I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E w/ a Crystal CS4239 audio chipset. I am running the default drivers which were loaded during my Windows 2000 installation. The audio has scratchy, poping sounds which are most noticable during DVD and CD playing. I suspect the drivers are not doing their job. Are there better audio drivers for this chipset than what I am currently using? IBM just say use the Windows 2k supplied drivers. Can anyone help?

I determined the problem was due to DMA not being enabled on the secondary IDE (which drives the DVD ROM). Works great now...
