Welcome to Windrivers Analyzer

What windows are you using?
What is the pc make and model please?

I don't believe that the 1371,1373 basic wdm drivers ever did surround sound though...

windows xp sp3
intel e2180 2GHZ 1GB RAM
my soundblaster should support 5.1 suround sound
and also i have the logitech x540 speakers

OK thanks, you have posted your processor make and model, but I need to know about the motherboard - either from the pc make and model or the motherboard itself.

The 1371,1373 - is this a separate card? At best I have found references to supporting 4 speakers (3.1) and then only with the right drivers

mmm i have intel motherboard also model 82801GR
and the soundblaster card is separate card and it include 5 connection (orange, blue, red, green and black)
and the orange green and black are connected to the speakers

the card is "creative live! 5.1" the devise manager recognized it creative "audio pci(es1371,es1373) WDM"

OK the 82801GR is the chipset on the motherboard... not the motherboard itself.

On the top right hand side of the creative card, you will see the model number - usually starting CT but sometimes SB or other letters. Please post the exact model

card model sb0060

and i have intel desktop board

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 08:15 AM
Which one, intel makes a fair few with that chipset!

OK that card was made as a Value range and as an OEM for Dell, Packard Bell and a dozen others. Did the SB0060 come out of an old machine or have you just bought this on ebay or whereever?

If it came out of an old machine... which one?

here are the creative drivers (http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&subCatID=206&prodID=4856&prodName=Sound Blaster Live! Value&subCatName=Live!&CatName=Sound+Blaster) but if it came out of an old machine these probably won't work.

intel desktop board DG31GL
and when i download the driver from the creative site appear error:

So that confirms it... we need to trace the history of the card.

Odd that motherboard only has 2+2 audio (http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/DG31GL/DG31GL-overview.htm). Anyway, if you can't trace the audio card, you can get 5.1 cards very cheaply now...

January 9th, 2009, 11:57 AM
but i'm talking about the seperate card that i bought month ago...

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 12:12 PM
Bought from where? Have a look at my post where I explain these cards come in several flavours. The right driver must be found! If it was pulled from a Dell, you need the Dell driver, etc..

here is the deatails of the card
the problem is that after install the driver from the CD i got no suround sound sounds

So it came with a driver cd... then it is quite likely the card is faulty I am afrraid. Alot of them did this... or you were given the wrong driver CD.

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 12:48 PM
it the right cd for sure
i think its hardware problem so i go to the company and change the card and they gave me same card but new and it does not solve the problem
you think that those kind of card are faulty? or it can be solve?

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 12:53 PM
It is possible that it is a faulty pci socket... or clashing with the onboard sound... Have you unintalled and disabled the onboard sound?

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 01:02 PM
yes i tried it also from the bios and the windows
its not solve the problem
but it's not weird that the sound card work but not as suround card ?
i use ac3filter for hear ac3 sound

It makes me wonder if these aren't fake cards... there were a few about. I am sure you are aware that they are not new... even if they are in a box, they are 5 years old at least!

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 01:30 PM
i know that it's not new.. but it should be useful for my needs.
if you think the card kind is fake you can give me a recommendation for satisfaction and chip card for my needs ? (only movies in suround and music) i'll try to change the card next week by add money

NooNoo

Well for a start get a new one! Cmedia based cards are excellent value and never have a problem with the drivers.

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 01:52 PM
cmedia cards aren't sold very much you sure about those cards ?
what do you say about the "Creative Audigy Value" ?

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 02:03 PM
I say it's creative.... and probably oem. If it's the oem version, I wouldn't say much.
If it's the original audigy it's old again too. Creative provide no support whatsoever with their oem cards. There are thousands of people who lose the drivers and never get the card to work.

You might want to private message hiphoper and gabriel, there are in your part of the world and might be able to advise you better on a local purchase

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 02:08 PM
it appears here :
http://ae.creative.com/products/welcomenew.asp?category=1
also the sb 5.1.. it's seems to be new one ..:| maybe i wrong ?

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 02:30 PM
Not sure...

If you want to try something radical, backup then format your pc with the creative card in... make sure the onboard is definetely off, install windows, then the chipset drivers, then the creative drivers... it will prove whether the card is faulty.

AnAlyZeR
January 9th, 2009, 02:48 PM
i tried it week ago..the best solution is to change the card in the shop to better card.. you can give me specific card what to buy?

NooNoo
January 9th, 2009, 02:51 PM
No, since you are not in the same country... as I said before, private message hiphoper or gabriel on this board - they will have useful info for you.

After having my computer cleaned up, I no longer have sound.

I have list of what was installed before the computer was wiped and it says the sound card was:
Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM)

However i cannot find drivers for it.Here's my computer info:

Operating System System Model
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600) Enclosure Type: Desktop
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: MS-7030
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 08/26/2004

We had the computer built from a local shop a few years ago. My ego is preventing me from bringing it back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Windrivers bnjfaz

here is your motherboard (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8N_Neo_Platinum)

The drivers for it are here (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=574) But the driver listed doesn't match what you had installed. That might mean you have a separate sound card. Look at the first link and scroll down to the picture of the edge of the motherboard. Do you plug your speakers in there or is the speaker socket further down the machine?

bnjfaz

Thank you for your reply NooNoo! I do plug my speakers into the socket where the pictures shows on the motherboard........

NooNoo

Then download and install the driver and it should put things right for you.
