I think all of us realize that if rogue security products like WinAntivirus and the like didn't make money, they wouldn't be so common. But, did you know that some sales affiliates for this stuff were making in excess of $330,000 per month?

LOL just don't let my employer find out or he'd be trying to convince me to try selling it.

In related news I've moved to just trying to be almost totally command prompt oriented in my tools for removing such things. If anyone has any security/cleanup software they would like to suggest please feel free to send me a message.

I don't make near that kind of cash to get rid of computer viruses, but I sleep well at night!

Personally, I'm a little miffed that I missed my chance at the Lexus.

The thing is these people have no face to them.
(Otherwise some of us would smash it way in BWAHAHAHAAHAH)
So being associated with it would never leave you if it was
found out.
Imagine that hanging over your head

I do not need to sell phony software. I just got through sending some money to a prince in nigeria that will allow him to get a huge sum of money out of an account and he promised to share some with me because of my up front cash I gave him to make it possible.

In an update to this thread, TrafficConverter2.biz has effectively been shut down (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2009/03/sunlight_disinfects_rogue_anti.html). MasterCard and Visa have pulled the plug on processing their transactions.
