Your motherboard manufacturer should have drivers available for download for the built-in sound. If you don't know who the manufacturer is, you could try this page:
http://www.amptron.com/html/drivers.html#sound
This page has drivers for Amptron motherboards with on-board sound.

This topic couldn't have come up at a better time.
I'm replacing a hard drive on a computer with that exact motherboard, and the customer had lost his drivers for it.
I found the video driver, but had trouble with the sound driver.

Well unfortunately, that driver on that site didn't work.
This board has a PCI Sound Pro chip on it , but the numbers are:
HT8338A/PCI
HRTF 3DX AUDIO
ECA449906UGGD
AN UPDATE ON THE SITUATION
After downloading the driver that didn't work, I noticed it had drivers in there for CMi8330.
So I went to the CMedia website, and sure enough there was the CMi8338 driver.
It went in pretty slick, and Viola there was sound.
Here is the site address
