Win2k Installation for Aureal 8830 Chipset

Hey People I need some help please. I am running Win2k and I have downloaded the drivers from win drivers.com for the aureal vortex 2 8830 sound card and it still wont install properly can someone gimme some tips on what to do to get this right? Thanks

First remove all sound card drivers via Device manager in the control panel,
Then check in safe mode in the device manger also to see if there are others hidding.
then reboot and let windows pick the sound card up.
when prompted for the drivers browse your system for the correct location of the drivers, not the folder that there in but the actuall file in the folder .
All shoud be well.
Unless you have downloaded the wrong drivers or you have the specs of the sound card wrong( double check the make and model) if so redownload the drivers .
sometimes a download can be corrupted (has happened to me before).

finally what exactly is the sound card doing or not doing.
And what kind of board do you have?
