After installing LiveWare3 and the new SoundblasterLive drivers I had no sound at all. Re-installed LW3 only and no sound again.Re-installed drivers only and no sound again. Checked all relevant areas and no sound. I'm now out of ideas. My system:
DellPIII 800Mhz,128RAM,98SE,GeForce2GTS(6.31 drivers),SoundblasterLiveValue.
HHeeeelllllpppp!

hmmm. I have the same (or so it seems) PC, and LiveWare 3 didn't cause any problems. did you make sure you have the correct version, and didn't install the 2k drivers or such?

Dear Student^2,
Yes, I have the correct drivers. Just no sound. Device Manager indicates everything is fine.

you probably have it hooked up in the wrong jack on the sound card. You need to make sure that it is connected on the line out or spk jack.

Ahem........I'm not that dumb!Everything works fine with LiveWare2 but not with LiveWare3.Unless of course, LiveWare3 requires different speaker routing, which I doubt.

Didn't mean to sound condescending, but since I know from personal experience that the LiveWare 3 divers and that Dell play nice together, it seems logical that it is user error.
I DID install the 2K LiveWare by mistake once, and it installed perfectly - no errors. Just caused some really odd problems with playback, sound fonts and what not. Thus my questions about it...
One thing you might try - opne the case, and press down gently on the sound card whilst playing a wav or mp3 or something, and see if that helps. Also try rotating the speaker plug at the soundcard while trying to play a sound, and see what happens. Good luck!
