First of all, you should download the drivers for your specific motherboard and not by the codes on the individual chips. If you need help identifying your motherboard, visit here (http://www.windrivers.com/identity/mboard/index.htm).

Second, what I would do is go into the registry, find the ENUM key, and delete it. Then reboot your computer and Windows will redetect all of the devices. Make sure you have the RIGHT motherboard drivers in a temporary directory on your hard drive before you start this procedure. Then when Windows asks for them, you've got them at the ready.

Do you mean you have a sound card plugged into a slot, and a sound chip on the motherboard as well? If so the on-board sound should be disabled, probably with a setting in the Onboard Peripherals section in your BIOS Setup. Some older boards had to have a jumper on the motherboard re-positioned. Do you have a manual for it?

The sound drivers will probably have to be un-installed and the Yamaha ones re-installed if this is the case. Is the Yamaha chip on a Promise card? I tried one and it was awful, very cranky to install & get going properly.

The PCtel driver sounds like the Wave Driver for an internal modem. Do you or did you have a PCtel Winmodem? You should be able to delete the multiple drivers from the Device Manager.

If you have several cards with driver problems, it is best to un-install all the problem drivers. Shut down & remove all but one of the problem cards from the system, get it working properly, then deal with any others one at a time.

Good luck, ask more questions if you need more advice.
