I have a Gigabyte 7ZX MB w/ onboard CT5880 audio chipset.
This beast is obviously the result of a nasty merger between Creative and Esoniq and any and all information regarding features and drivers of the (Esoniq AudioPCI 128 / Sound Blaster PCI 128) reveal chipset numbers in the CT-4xxx series and conflicting feature lists. WHAT is this chipset, WHO made it and which drivers should I use.
I am looking for success stories with ANY of these issues as I am having difficulty finding a capable driver (most are basic or do not work)
SPDIF Output
4 (4x1) Independent Chan. Speaker Output (not 2x2)
EAX (the manual on creative website says it does it)
Noisy analog output when using WDM drivers
4-chan DVD Playback
AC3/DTS SPDIF PassThru on DVD Playback
This is clearly a reasonably clean and feature rich chipset with SHOCKINGLY POOR drivers and software support (most likely because none of the Creative developers are interested in an old Esoniq chipset).
Sorry about the many questions but if anyone can shed light on any question listed here - please post. ANY INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL. :D
PS - {long shot alert} Anyone got this thing to work in BeOS?
