I'd stay away from Sound Blasters though. CobraTekMax April 30th, 2001, 10:08 PM Nothing beats the SBLive 5.1 platinum as far as digital quality goes. imd14u May 1st, 2001, 12:25 PM SBLive! family is grand. Just make sure you read the manual and instructions, on how to properly install and use it. ;) Rellik May 1st, 2001, 05:39 PM the LiveDrive is a pretty cool feature, it even has optical ins and outs Lycia May 1st, 2001, 08:42 PM Stay away from SB products, They really are crap. Driver support sucks. And they aren't very compatible with VIA based motherboards. Turtle Beach is a great alternative. jbar1 May 3rd, 2001, 02:19 PM Originally posted by Lycia: Stay away from SB products, They really are crap. Driver support sucks. Have had no problems with SB products or driver support. ;) CobraTekMax May 3rd, 2001, 06:41 PM Originally posted by jbar1: Better yet, stay away from Via chip based MoBos. The SB Live was the ONLY thing in my system that I didn't have to experiment with at least 3 different driver revisions to get working correctly. And yes, VIA chipsets suck, but since all of the GOOD motherboards are using them, they're about the only choice for hardcore AMD fans. aabatteries May 6th, 2001, 12:17 PM Thanks.... I like to record myself playing crappy guitar so I'll check them out. Especially, any with optical ins and outs. -aa :p :p furlong47 May 6th, 2001, 05:16 PM SB Live! rules majorly, and has never given me any problems. Just do a little research to make sure there aren't known issues with your hardware, and you should be fine. windrivers.com
