hey guys, im new here.

i have a really annoying problem.

whenever i play video and sound together on my 'puter the sound is ****ty. not like "really low volume", but it sounds chopped up, like a really bad LP... try to imagine what it would sound like if your mpeg files suffered from bad ping or something...

like...

sound-CRT-sound-CRCHK-sound-CHK-sound-KKK

but really fast... i hope someone have the slightest idea of what im talking about, kinda hard to explain when english isnt your native language...

btw, i have even tried with three different sound cards, so it cant be that. it must be some sort of software trouble. i have also used different drivers with the different cards.

games/music plays just great, except when there is a movie in the game. also tried with different video players, not just media player...

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Im going bonkers over this problem!!!

I would recommend reinstalling your sound drivers, I had the problem before, and reinstalling solved it. But make sure you know what sound driver you have, inorder to reinstall it.

Or sometimes it just a loose connection.

Hope that helped!

If its not your driver problem it could be that you are just using a slow computer. I know that with a few games i had, the cut scenes didnt run very well (choppy like you said) but after i upgraded my computer it was all fine and dandy.

maybe it is just because i have a rather slow computer, but the thing is that it all worked fine when i had just formatted and gotten started...

And also the cutscenes flow nice, its just the sound that is screwed...

I have tried with several different sound cards and its the same thing everywhere. I will try to re-install my drivers, and see if that would work.

Does anyone else have any other ideas?

Make sure that your sound card is not sharing an IRQ with another peice of equipment. You might also try switching the slot in which your card is placed. If you don't need DOS compatibility I would disable that functionality as well. Just a couple extra ideas.

hey, just wanted to let you guys that helped me here know that i fixed the problem!

actually, it was the Detonator3-drivers that screwed things up. now i have the Asus original drivers, and everything works just fine!

anyway, just thought you wanted to know.

That doesn't surprise me, the detonator 3 drivers trashed my computer when i installed them...went back to the original diamond drivers and it was fine again...
