HI All,

Anyone had any problems with the latest Nvidia detonator drivers as linked from Windrivers homepage at:

http://www.nvidia.com/products.nsf/htmlmedia/detonator3.html

I have a Diamond Viper V770 which is a TNT2 based card (non-ultra) and after installing these new drivers i can no longer obtain 1024x768 at any colour depth. When i select 1024x768 and click Apply, Win98se gives the standard warning about hitting ESC to quit if your monitor goes wierd, i hit OK, the screen goes black and stays black.

My monitor then says "Frequency out of Range" and lists VF as 134Khz and HF as 0.0Hz?? I can't get back into Windows by hitting ESC (or anything else for that matter) and have to hit reset.

Strangely, all other modes from 640x480 upto 1280x960 work fine in all colour depths and i'm currently using 1152x864 in 32bit with no problem. My monitor is a 3 month old Belinea 103040 17" and i'm running a Gigabyte GA7IEX4 board with a Duron 800/128MB. I've also just reinstalled Windows within the last week so its a fresh system. I suspect a driver bug but was wondering if anyone else has had problems?

Neil.

Yeah, I've got the same video card (Diamond V770 non-ultra) under W2K. I've had a couple BSODs since I installed the v6.50 drivers yesterday. I may try to revert back to the v6.31 drivers... http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smilies/cwm23.gif

I have read in other forums that the drivers are buggy as all you know what. With the overclocking feature doing wierd things and 3d programs crashing such as 3dmark 2K. I downloaded them and tried them on a geforce MX P3 rig with a Soyo Via 133 MOBO and didn't have any problems. Like Kyle wrote over on the HardOCP, sounds like compatability problems.
