Hey guys, need help
Asus Geforce 256 AGP V6600 Deluxe Video card on an Asus K7V Slot A Athlon system, keeps crashing. I have an identical system at home for myself and I have no problems..
This system has one difference, a 3com 56k modem (as i have a NIC cause im on high speed dsl) The Detonator drivers work fine, but as soon as retail drivers are installed it crashes during game play. Any Suggestions??? Im stumpted

My system is as follows
AMD Athlon K7 900Mhz Slot A
Asus K7V Motherboard
256megs PC-133 SD-ram
SBLive! Value
D-Link 538TX Nic card
and most importantly
Asus V6600 Geforce 256 Deluxe
My co-workers system
AMD Athlon K7 750mhz Slot A
Asus K7V
128megs PC133
SB Live
3Com Internet Call Modem
and the
Asus V6600 Geforce 256 Deluxe
We have IDENTICAL cards and identical mobo's yet hers crashes constantly and mine runs perfectly???

Disable ACPI in both the BIOS and Windows. In Windows go to Device Manager (if using 98/ME) then System and double click Advanced Configuration and Power Interface BIOS and change the driver to Plug and Play Bios. If using Windows 2000 double click Computer in Device Manager and change the setting from ACPI to Standard Computer. Reboot and Windows will redetect the Hardware and reallocate the IRQ's for each device. Also worth doing is to Manually Assign IRQ 5 in the BIOS to ISA/Legacy as this can cause problems on some boards.
