I have a Creative Geforce2 Mx 32Mb DDR jobby. And all seems to be working fine, but when i try to play quake2 online I have to cap my fps at 31, or my ping spikes to around 1000. This is really annoying, and I have already changed isp once, cause i thought it was them.

So far I have tried setting the refresh rate to adater default, but this made no difference. I have thought about downgrading the drivers to detonator 2, (currently at Detonator 3) is this a good idea?

Can anyone help me.

Oh my computer spec is

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.1ghz
Soltek SL75-KV Mainboard
256mb PC-133
10.4 Gb HDD
Creative Geforce2 Mx 32mb DDR
CD-RW
CD-ROM
Diamond Supra Express 56e Pro

Thanx to all

Dean (aka Kill-Krazy)

Capping your FPS may be the only solution, as you could easily max out whatever server you are playing on without a high bandwidth internet connection.

Another solution would be to jump to at least 1280x1024x32, which will slow your fps significantly. But if you are playing at 800x600 or less, you'll likely be exceeding 100 fps, and all of those updates are going to be sent to the server. Capping the fps is common, especially if on a phone line connection other than DSL.
