[RESOLVED] Anyone can help me with this problem?

I have been having a problem with Windows98. I think its the PA70D card. I
have installed the newest drivers and still have this problem:

I have installed Partition Magic on NT (4.0 w/service pack 6) and installed
Windows98 (1st edition) on the partition. It installed fine. The only
problem is that the mouse is blurry, has about 5 mouse points all together
on the screen in a block, and when I move it around it messes up the screen
to a point where you can't read what was on it. The mouse was also like this
during the install of Windows98.

I have tried to correct the problem with a different mouse, the mouse
drivers that came with the mouse, and also the generic Windows98 drivers.

I installed Windows98 from a cd. This is the full version. Have also tried
the upgrade Windows98 and also Windows95, yet have the same problem.

Also tried to install it on another drive w/o Partition Magic and had the
same problem.

Keymouse Mouse (also tried a Perfect Point mouse)

Everything works great with NT. I have all the newest drivers for all of the
hardware and even the motherboard (BIOS upgrade) and monitor.

So, you did a fresh load of 98 on another drive and got the same result? If so, then it could be the PA70D card you mentioned.
You have obviously tried alot so here is what comes to mind:

1st I would uninstall the Aopen video card and try a different card.
Make sure PS2 is enabled in BIOS. Try a real mouse - ie Logitech, Microsoft. Try a serial mouse. If you can get a copy of 98SE try it (fresh load.) Check device manager for errors. Boot to safe mode and remove all instances of mice...

Just some things to try, let me know if none of this works and we'll go from there! Or maybe someone else has more?

I ripped the head assembly out - it spins up fine now...

I have a working NT working partition and the video card and mouse work perfectly. So, Im lead to believe it is a software problem.

I have tried a different mouse, serial & PS/2, checked the device manger for conflicts, removed the mice (tried the generic and drivers that came with the mice), PS/2 is enabled in the BIOS, and uninstalled/installed the video card with old drivers, new drivers, & generic drivers.

I haven't tried the 98 SE yet (dont have access too) or another video card. According to the manufacture(Http://www.aopenusa.com), the video card should work with 95, 98, and NT. I have emailed them with no response back yet.

I'm stuck...Any other ideas? :-(

I pretty much aggree with ShawnMT's suggestions. It sounds very much like a video card problem. Since it obviously works under NT, it may be a problem with the way Windows 98 controlls the video.

You seem to have already done enough to establish that its not purely a software problem. To troubleshoot it effectively, you really will need to swap out the video card.
Also, in the BIOS make sure memory caching is disabled in all ranges from B000-FFFF. Some video cards use addresses in this range, and it may be conflicting.
