NT Can't access other Servers (But sees them?!)

Well...

I haven't been doing the whole "Networking" thing very long, yet I find myself in charge of the backup plan for the company that I work for. Only in America :confused:

Here are the symptoms... I go to Network Neighborhood and try to access another computer on the network (I see them all...). I receive the following error...

\\SERVERNAME is not accessible

The network path was not found.

However, if I go to "Start" then "Run", and type in \\192.168.168.210\c$, everything is peachy... Does anyone have any ideas?

It might be a problem with a WINS server.

It could also be a million other things!

You say "I can't connect", does this mean another User CAN connect?

CAn you describe your system? EG What server are you using? Do you have BDC's replicating and handling Log-ons? Are you logging on to a network (LAN) domain or to the local machine? Where does the master Computer Browser reside (PDC, BDC? Do you have "Disable browser" on all other boxes?)

So may questions, I know, but we need more detail!

Thanks alot for your help... So I'm looking at my internet settings, and I realize that by default NT sets your subnet mask to 255.255.0.0... and our net works off of a class "C", ergo, the subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0. Once I figured that out, everything was peachy. Thanks again for your ideas, and the only thing I can say is "Dogh!" :D
