DOTnet, VS, and critical updates

I've got the DOTnet framework installed on a web server and the VS server + the windows component updates. ASP and VS work fine. The problem is that some critical updates aren't installing (see event log below). I have't found anything about this on technet. Anyone else experience this or am I all alone?
