Asus M2V problem
Hi,
This mobo ASUS M2V has some critical problems mybe due to its VIA chipset
It's freezes during boot or during playing some games.
Is there any software updates to solve the problem or have to change the mobo.
>>I've tested many of them with latest BIOS versions or even older one's and changed the Graphics and all the drivers on fresh Windows<<
I'm pretty sure it's the motherboard problem.
thanks.

At what point in the boot process does it freeze dune?
-
Sometimes I could see WindowsXP logo & then it freezes.
Most of all but sometimes I think during post also...

What does the event viewer have to say?
How about a bootlog?
-
I cannot find any efficient thing......
-
Dune, event viewer is in computer management - is that what you meant?
You have to tell windows to create a bootlog - use msconfig.

what type of memory are you using? who's brand? trying reseating the stick(s)
-
There are not any known problems with that via chipset that would cause what your describing. Thats a very stable chipset so I would be looking elsewhere for the problem.
Power supply not adequate
Memory problems
Over heating
etc etc

Thanks
Memory is PATRIOT 1 GB PC6400
I tried some power supplies like OCZ & GREEN more than 330 real wat.
-
The stick of Patriot should be changed out and try something else
Also as OMGmissinglink said you need more like 450 to 550
Also what video card?
-
I've tested OCZ Gold for ram also & I've tested both GREEN 430 & 530
I'm sure nor ram not PSU.
For VGA tested graphics 7200, 8600GT, 6600GT....
and there are at least 5 M2V mobos I bought in difference times

What make and model psu?
What cpu? Have you tested this cpu elsewhere?

A TON of bios updates made for that board and many were addressing memory compatability and the latest adrressed a graphics card problem:
