It even works with just
cd\
ipconfig /all
pause
so I guess it has something to do with getting back to a c: prompt and then running the command.
Previously when I started the dos box it would start at my profile/home folder.

Previously when I started the dos box it would start at my profile/home folder.
It seems that some times the proper files do not exist in a users profile. When you go to cmd it opens by default in the documents and settings folder. By changing the path you then gain access to the necessary files.
Dont really remember off hand which file is required, but it or they reside in system32.
