There's your chipset stuff, as Ferrit suggested.
:)
All of those have been installed already.
Or should I search for North and South bridge drivers?
Well, at this point I don't know - with a SiS chipset like you have I'd have expected a SiS 900 driver so I am out of ideas.
That comp never shows with that OS, so maybe that's the problem.
Hopefully someone else can pick up the ball here.
Thanks for the assistance so far anyway CCT.
I will also get in contact with Acer in the week and see what they say.
Cheers. :thumbs:
I came across this advice:
"All Acer units that are Bluetooth capable have a Bluetooth on/off button. If you press it and see a message "No Device", it means your unit has no Bluetooth module installed."
http://www.notebooksolutions.ca/zc/i...roducts_id=882
Have tried pushing the Bluetooth button and no response.
I emailed Acer tech support in UK last night and hope to have a reply sometime today.
Reply from Acer UK,
"We understand your concern. However according to the serial number which you provided we have checked our records and we like to inform you that this computer doesn't have an in built wireless card." :o
As there is a Wireless button the front of the laptop I assumed there was wireless onboard. I've had a look inside and there is a socket for a wireless card, but now I will have to find out which one fits it and install one.
Sorry about the waste of time CCT. :(
LoL -no problem. That last link I posted may help in the identification.
Just bought this...

But have just thought to myself that maybe the USA version would be the wrong voltage for a UK version laptop?
Right, I have my Wireless LAN card and my Antenna. Here
Am I correct in thinking that the antenna, apart from being connected to the Wireless LAN Card, also gets attached to a part of the screen?
Most I have heard about have the antenna routed around the screen housing.
see-> http://cgi.ebay.com/Acer-Aspire-3000...QQcmdZViewItem
You DON'T connect the antenna anywhere BUT the card else you'll short it. There are 2 TWO connections to the card I read.
Yep. I guess it's just a case of dismantling the screen and seeing where it fits. I have already checked out the two connections on the Lan card.
This may help - be sure you see the screw locations are the same;

Thanks. I'll have a fiddle later and let you know how it goes.
