Welcome to Windrivers julien
Before we can be of any help, we need a lot more information.
Is your pc a branded one - eg compaq, hp, emachine? If so, what make and exact model is it?
What windows do you have?
If your pc is not branded please download and run this and post what it says about your motherboard and sound.
The brand is balance, windows xp.
I accedently unistalled the volume control, when i open it, it get a pop up saying:
https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2008/06/1.jpg
its to compicated to re-install it again
you say the brand of your machine is balance...is the walmart special notebook shown here? If so download this to a folder you create - make it easy to find so call it c:\sound
When it's downloaded, click open or run (or go to the folder and double click the file WDM_A376a.exe) and it will reinstall your sound for you.
For anyone else with a balance notebook here is the support and download sites
I installed it, i could now hear through microphone, but no computer sounds. I restarted my computer and now i dont hear anything at all.
I tried as hard as i can to fix this problem, but still....nothing..........
Do you think its possible if i let u access my computer? I heard about it in rempte assistance.
sorry, no, I won't do that, your computer is under warranty - you need to call the support people.
I am puzzled that you can "hear though microphone"... what does that mean?
Can you open the volume control without the error message now? If so, check that the volume is up and is not muted.
i did all that, well ima run my backup CD for this computer, but noonoo thanks alot for getting the programed installed and thanks again for taking ur time.
Anytime.
I have exactly same problemI have Acer Travelmate 290 SeriesI accedently unistalled the volume control, when i open it, it get a pop up saying:
There is no active Mixer device installed. To install mixer device click printer and other hardware and then click Add hardware.
Can any one please help me restore system voice. Thanks

Hello , I have this problem that first of all i cannot open the volume control, since it sends that famous message "no active mixer devices available.." and In add new hardware i have the yellow warning sign saying i lack drivers for my audio device.
This is what everest says about my motherboard and my sound:
Multimedia:
Soundcard Creative SB X-Fi [NoDB]
MotherBoard:
BIOS: AMI (10/20/06)
Model: P5B Deluxe
If you need to know anything else please ask ;)
marc
hello, i have the same problem concerning the message "no active mixer devices available" and when i open the Add New Hardware window, i see the yellow warning sign next to "Audio device on high definition audio bus" saying i lack the corresponding drivers, but after installing all the drivers for my soundcard, the problem still persists, and as result, no sound, and occasional blue screen crashes caused by ha10kx2k.sys, so those are all my problems, all caused by this damn soundcard.
Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Soundblaster Platinum
Motherboard: p5b Deluxe
Welcome to Windrivers Viral
You just need to reinstall the drivers click here for Creative drivers
Hello, i did reinstall them but it doesnt change anything even after the restart..
Is there a way to erase all existing creative drivers and reinstall new ones from scratch?
Has this sound card ever worked?
What is the error code shown in device manager?
When you reinstalled the drivers, did you uninstall the creative software from add/remove programs first?
What are the numbers and the error message associated with the ha10kx2k.sys BSOD?
Manual uninstall instructions here. For XP you have to click More to the right of PCI soundblaster cards.
Yes it used to work just fine :)
In add hardware the error message for audio device on high definition audio bus is: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"
Im restarting now after uninstalling the card..
You might consider changing the card's pci slot...
Id prefer avoiding moving stuff around in my pc for the moment, and try to do what i can here. :D So now i uninstalled the card, only problem i have lost the installation CD for the soundcard, can i get around the card installation witheout the CD knowing its a plugnplay?
Download the drivers from Creative... it will contain the software you need.
Dear people, how do get to Creative to download.
Welcome to WinDrivers, Frinzi.
