Wont Read Blank Cdrs?
I've had my computer for about a month,it did burn cds fine but now it refuses to recognise a blank cdr. If I use nero and insert a blank cd it spits it out and im told to insert a blank cd which I do and it spits it back out again, the same happens using different brands and also when I try to burn using media player. I had a CDR with just 1 text file on it,I tried to add to this disk and it burnt fine with no problems. I then got a friend to burn a blank text file on cdr and again I burnt fine on my cdrw,So it seems to burn no problem with something else on the CDR,anyone any ideas?

Welcome to WD forums dave23ni (apologies for only seeing this until now).
If you are still there & wanting help, I'd say first thing to try is removing all your burning software & re-installing, if you are using nero INCD don't add that back until you've tried 'ordinary' nero on its own - it sounds to me like you've got this on & windows is therefore looking for blank 'formatted' cd's..
(InCD is a piece of 'packet writing' software {that makes a cd work kind of like a hard drive & allows you to drag & drop files one at a time, rather than the 'disk at once' or 'track at once' which are the more general methods of writing to a cd} - if thats present you need to preformat cd's to accept this format, by using InCD itself on each one first before you can write on them)
