Asus P8z68-V/GEN3 board. Installed 2 new 4tb drives, went into the raid setup and it sees both drives as 3.8 something and added them to the array, start windows went into disc management and it shows drives but as 2 2tb drives. Whats the deal here? Is this actually the 4TB drive showing up as 2 2TB drives? Now this shows as 2 2TB not one full drive partitioned into 2 2TB. The raid array is set to mirror.
In order for windows to use hard drives larger than 2 terabytes the drive must be setup with one or more GPT partition(s).

That can't be cause I put it in my machine and it just sees the whole thing but it may be some boards are like that. My shop machine is an older board his is almost new. Mine just sees it. Also there is no option in the raid setup to set them as GPT and once you are in windows disc management it only shows the 2TB but I will look into it and Thanks.
Read the first few paragraphs of that Wikipedia page I kinked to above. Since the MBR (Master Boot Record) is limited to roughly 2TB (TeraByte), it is in the process of being superseded by the GPT (GUID Partition Table) scheme in new computers.

If he reprograms and takes it off raid it will probably work it appears. My machine is an older machine and sees the full drive just fine.
