[RESOLVED] Win2K gaming

This is something that my wife started noticing under Windows 2000.

Whenever we play a game (The Sims, Max Payne, Red Faction demo....) well, pretty much any game, after playing the game if you go to another game our system reboots. Mainly Max Payne (since we have been playing Max Payne alot) that it will reboot.

Here is our system rundown.....
AMD K6-2 500Mhz
GeForce 256 video card
192 Meg of RAM
60 Gig Maxtor hard drive
Windows 2k Pro
service pack 2

Is this a normal thing? Is there something I need to start troubleshooting?

I haven't played Max Payne yet, but I've never had a game cause a reboot. Maybe your video drivers are causing troubles. I was getting BSODs under W2K pretty regularly with my trusty 'ole Diamond Viper V770 (TNT2, non-ultra) when I used any nVidia Detonator 3 driver above v6.31. Maybe you should try an earlier version of the nVidia Detonator 3 drivers. Just an idea... https://forums.windrivers.com/
