MY VIPER 2 WORKS!
I used the nt 4.0 drivers and it worked https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
I'm very surprised at that esp since it's made by the worst 2 driver companies out there https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
I noticed a lot of people have had trouble getting their sound cards working...I don't know why, I have an SB16 in one system, and an AOpen FX3D in another, and both work fine under Win2K.
And congrats on getting your Viper card working...just keep in mind that with NT4 drivers, you have NO Direct3D support.
BTW, doesn't Win2K support the Savage4 chipset directly? Oh..that's right...the Viper2 is Savage2000...WIn2K does NOT support it. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif It doesn't support GeForce either. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
Oh..on your sound card...check your resources for an IRQ conflict...you may be accidentally sharing it with something else.
Well I solved this problem by swaping sound cards with my parents pc. They are both pos but this one works https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
Then it WAS a resource-conflict. When you switched soundcards, Win2K selected the resources, rather than Win9X doing it before an upgrade...WIn2K Plug and pray is MUCH smarter than 9X's. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
nope, I'm dual booting https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
The sound cards are different and this on can be a sb16 so it works. The other card was just a pos https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/09/1.gif
